What does it mean to be "Blacklisted"?

In computing, a blacklist is a basic access control mechanism that allows everyone access, except for the members of the black list (i.e. list of denied accesses) uses numerous services to generate blacklists.  These services records troublesome IRC users, compromised computers and other potential threats to our users.

If you're finding yourself banned from because your IP address is appearing on one of these lists you'll need to see the specific help on our site for that list and follow the directions provided to have your address removed from the list.
